What is Cord Tissue?

Cord tissue refers to the umbilical cord itself. Cord tissue contains mesenchymal stem cells, which are different from hematopoietic stem cells found in cord blood. Mesenchymal stem cells have the capacity to promote healing of the body by repairing damaged cells and rebuilding tissue.
